What would you do with a three figure bottle of wine? Would you save it for posterity? Or, to heck with posterity you say? What's wrong with now?
I recently read about a bottle of Château Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan White 2007. Wine Spectator is rating the wine 97 points, and one bottle will set you back about $680.00 USD.
Perhaps you sometimes fantasize about owning such a bottle; maybe you see yourself opening the bottle, serving it in your best glass, and admiring its lovely hue. Or maybe you see it holding a special place in your beautiful cellar.
I personally would feel totally intimidated by this wine. I do not own a lovely wine cellar, and I know I would never find the right moment to open the bottle. I wish I were, but I guess I am not, made for such delicate fare. Sigh!
